Committee for Echuca Moama and Rich River Golf Club are joining forces again to present the 2023 Celebri-Tee Golf Day and Sportsman's Dinner to be held on Wednesday, February 15. The event will raise money for the Echuca Neighbourhood House Food Bank service which helps support and deliver nutritious fresh food to those in need.
C4EM chief executive officer Deanne Armstrong said all funds raised at the 2023 event would help fund a community bus to help support Food Bank.
'Amidst concerns around the increase in costs-of-living, our recent floods and more need for affordable housing, ENH supports our community by providing assistance through food relief and we are very excited to be donating all the proceeds from the 2023 Celebri-Tee Golf Day and our Sportsman's Dinner and Auction to this cause,' she said.
'We are looking forward to welcoming a line-up of sporting legends to join us on the day.
'In our 2022 event we were joined by Gary Buckenara, Merv Hughes, Jason Dunstall and the well-known Dippa, just to name a few.
'We can't wait to announce next year's line up soon. We can confirm that comedian and MC for the night Des Dowling will be keeping everyone in line which should be a night of laughs.'
How can you help? There are three ways to get involved:
Option 1: Businesses can enter a team of three players to take on the golf alongside one of the stars. As part of the package, you will also receive sponsorship of a hole, three tickets to the Sportsman's Dinner and Auction with your celebrity, and have your logo placed on the bus to show your support of this initiative. There is also an option if you want to choose your star to play golf with.
Option 2: If you're a business and not into golf, but still want to support this initiative, why not provide sponsorship towards this great cause. If you sponsor $500 you will receive two tickets to the Sportsman's Dinner and Auction and have your logo (smaller size) placed on the bus. If you sponsor $1000 you also receive two tickets to the Sportsman's Dinner and Auction and your logo (larger size) is placed on the bus. To find out more details around Option 1 or 2, email Steve Loader on golfpro@richriver.com.au
Option 3: If you just want to attend the Sportsman's Dinner and Auction you can purchase tickets, $100 each from the Rich River Golf Club reception or phone 5481 3333.Tickets include a two-course meal, range of auction items and a night full of laughs. If you are going to purchase a table, make sure you get a group of nine together and organisers will try to get one of the stars on your table.
This is a great idea for a Christmas gift for that someone who has everything.
'The event was first held in 2021 to help raise funds after the severe economic effects of the COVID pandemic,' Ms Armstrong said.
'The event raised a massive $87,000, with proceeds supporting a marketing campaign to help increase our tourism back into the communities.'
The 2022 event raised $50,000 for Echuca Regional Health's Cancer and Wellness Centre.
'We hope our 2023 event will once again help such an important initiative in our community,' Ms Armstrong said.
ENH manager Sarah Peake was thrilled money raised will go towards those in the community who need help to put food on the table.
'We're providing food relief, and we thought we knew what busy was during lockdowns,' Ms Peake said. 'But then we saw the housing prices go up, rental prices go up, and the whole housing market has exploded.
'And now, with the flood crisis, we've had to suspend some of ENH's other activities so we can solely focus on feeding the community during this terrible time.'
