George Santos

Board Member

George is driven by a genuine passion for connecting people, strengthening partnerships, and helping our region thrive through collaborative projects that make a tangible difference.

He grew up with a deep appreciation for community, regional development, and the power of local networks. Although his professional path has taken him through several industries, each step has reinforced George's belief in the value of grassroots leadership and strong community ties. His background is a natural fit for the work he now does — supporting regional growth, fostering innovation, and helping organisations work together toward shared goals.

Across his career, George has worked in a variety of customer-focused, hospitality, operations, and marketing roles, with a strong emphasis on strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and community partnerships. At Moama Bowling Club, he has helped shape initiatives across events, philanthropy, youth programs, fundraising, and regional collaboration. Skills he is proud to bring include relationship management, project development, communications, and a practical understanding of what drives successful outcomes in regional communities.

Outside of work, George is actively involved in community life and passionate about projects that strengthen wellbeing and social connection across our region. He is also a lifelong foodie, having spent 25 years as a chef — a foundation that still fuels his love of hospitality, local produce, and bringing people together over great food. George enjoys supporting local charities, mentoring young people, and working on creative projects with his grandchildren, along with hands-on hobbies such as leatherwork. Family, community, and the spirit of Echuca Moama continue to inspire everything he does.
