A Snapshot in Time is a community-driven initiative led by the Committee for Echuca Moama in partnership with student leaders from St Joseph’s College, Campaspe Cohuna Local Learning and Employment Network (CCLLEN), The Riverine Herald and the Fairley Leadership Program (FLP)

The project will celebrate and honour 100 women from the Campaspe and Murray local government areas by documenting their contributions and legacies in a published book.

The project was launched at a community event on March 2, 2025, at Moama Bowling Club, which coincided with International Women’s Day.

For A Snapshot in Time, women will be selected through public nominations and a selection committee, ensuring diverse representation reflective of the region’s demographics within a 50km radius. A number of young leaders (aged 17–21) will work alongside experienced writers and journalists to conduct interviews and capture portraits, creating an inspiring historical record of women in our community in 2025.

The project will conclude with the publishing of a book to be unveiled in mid-2026 to honour the remarkable women whose stories are showcased.
